Chee Cheong Fun


[Ingredients]

  • 100g rice flour

  • 10g tapioca flour

  • 10g cornstarch

  • 1tsp salt

  • 3tbsp corn oil

  • 350ml water

  • 200g char siew - diced

  • 1 stalk scallion - chopped

[Sauce]

  • 4tbsp warm water

  • 3tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2tsp sesame oil

  • 1tbsp sugar

[Steps]

  1. Mix rice flour, tapioca flour and starch in a large mixing bowl. Gradually whisk in water, followed by oil.

  2. Brush tray with a thin layer of oil. Ladle enough batter to form a thin layer on the tray. Steam for 2mins.

  3. Scatter scallion and char siew over and steam for another 2mins.

  4. Sauce: Mix all ingredients together and stir till sugar dissolves.

  5. Remove chee cheong fun from steamer and roll it up. Cut into smaller pieces, place on a serving dish and ladle prepared sauce over.
