Soy Sauce Chicken


[Ingredients]

  • 4 chicken thigh with drumstick

  • 1 bulb garlic - sliced half

  • 50g ginger - sliced

  • 80g scallion - sliced into 3 sections

  • 1.5L water

  • 1/2 cup rice wine

  • 1/2 cup dark soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce

  • 40g rock sugar

  • 1tsp five spice powder

  • 2 cinnamon stick

  • 2 star anise

  • Sesame oil

[Steps]

  1. Fill pot with water. Add in remaining ingredients, except chicken and sesame oil. Bring to a boil.

  2. Add in chicken. Cover and simmer for 45mins.

  3. Remove chicken from pot and set aside. Chop into serving slices and place them on a serving dish.

  4. Mix braising sauce with some sesame oil and pour over chicken. Serve.
