Fried Beancurd Cubes


[Ingredients]

  • 1 piece 300g soft beancurd - cut into 3 x 2cm pieces

  • 1 lightly beaten egg

  • 180g plain/all purpose flour

  • Cooking oil for deep frying

  • 1 finely sliced spring onion

[Dipping Sauce]

  • 3tbsp light soy sauce

  • 1 clove peeled and minced garlic

  • 1/2tsp sugar

  • 2tsp sesame oil

[Steps]

  1. Place beancurd in a bowl and scald with hot water for 1min. Drain.

  2. Dip each beancurd first in egg then in flour and shake off excess flour.

  3. Deep dry beancurd for 3 to 4mins until golden. Remove from heat and drain.

  4. Sauce. Mix all the ingredients together and put into a small bowl.

  5. Sprinkle spring onion over beancurd and serve with dipping sauce.
