Chicken Yakitori

[Ingredients]

  • 1tbsp mirin sake

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 3/4tbsp honey

  • 1/2 clove garlic - crushed

  • 1lb boneless skinless chicken thigh - fat trimmed

  • 14 bamboo skewers

[Steps]

  1. Bring mirin, soy sauce, honey and garlic to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat for 5mins. Set aside, let cool.

  2. Cut chicken into 1inch cubes and place them in a ziplock bag. Pour marinade over chicken. Chill for at least 30mins.

  3. Soak skewers in water for 30mins to prevent them from burning during cooking.

  4. Thread chicken onto skewers. Grill over medium-high heat for about 5-6mins, brushing both sides with remaining marinade.
