  • 175g unsalted butter

  • 45g (3tbsp) icing sugar

  • 1/2tsp vanilla essence

  • 40g (2tbsp + 2tsp) cornstarch

  • 1tbsp matcha powder

[Steps]

  1. Whisk butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Add in vanilla and continue to whisk.

  2. Sift flour, matcha powder and starch together over butter mixture and whisk till smooth. Spoon mixture into a piping bag fitter with your desired piping tip. Pipe onto a parchment paper lined baking tray, well-spaced apart - about 1 to 1-and-a-half inch.

  3. Sprinkle sesame seeds over and bake for 8mins until the cookies are slightly browned. Leave to cool slightly on baking tray to firm up and transfer to wire rack and let cool completely.
