Chocolate Chip Cookies


Yields: about 70-100 1 inch-sized cookies

[Ingredients]

  • 150g dark/semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 300g plain flour

  • 230g unsalted butter

  • 115g caster sugar

  • 60g custard powder

  • 2tbsp vanilla essence

[Steps]

  1. Preheat oven 180 degC.

  2. Place the butter and vanilla essence into a mixing bowl.

  3. Sift flour, sugar and custard powder into the same bowl and beat until thoroughly mixed.

  4. Fold in chocolate chips.

  5. Spoon out the mixture one at a time and roll into small balls. Place the balls onto a baking tray, spaced about an inch to 1-and-a-half inch apart and flatten slightly. Bake in the oven for 12mins or until cooked and browned at the edges.

  6. Remove from the oven and leave to cool completely on a wire rack. Store cookies in an airtight container.
