Hungarian Goulash

[Ingredients]

  • 180g sirloin steak - cubed

  • 20g onions - finely sliced

  • 2 cloves of garlic - chopped

  • 25g tomato paste

  • 20ml oil

  • 15g ground paprika

  • 10g flour

  • 25ml red wine

  • 100ml beef stock

  • Salt and pepper

[Steps]

  • Preheat oven 175degC.

  • Season beef with salt and pepper. Coat well with flour.

  • Pan fry beef over high heat and drain on paper towels.

  • In a heat-proof pot, add in oil, sweat onions and garlic.

  • Add in beef and stir well. Add in tomato paste, followed by red wine - deglaze.

  • Add in stock, bring to boil. Cover pot with foil and let simmer in the oven for 30mins.

  • Remove pot from oven, sprinkle in paprika and continue to cook it in the oven until desire doneness.
