[Ingredients] - makes 60pcs
A portion of nian gao - cut into 1cm cubes
200g glutinous rice flour
10g rice flour
300g purple sweet potato - peeled, steamed
40g icing sugar
55ml cooking oil
1/2tsp salt
170-180ml water
[Steps]
Combine all ingredients (except nian gao) together and knead till it forms a soft dough.
Divide the dough into 15-20g portions.
Wrap each portion with a piece of nian gao and roll it into a ball.
You can either place them on banana leaves and steam it for 10mins over medium-high heat, or pan-fry them for 5mins over low heat.
