Stir-fry Beef with Broccoli



Serving: 3-4pax


[Ingredients]

  • 600g ribeye steak - sliced

  • 0.5 tsp baking soda

  • 3cm-sized ginger - peeled and julienned

  • 1 yellow onion - peeled and cubed

  • 6-8 dried chillies - soaked and cut into lengths

  • 4 garlic cloves - peeled and chopped

  • 250g broccoli - cut into pcs


[Marinade]

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp shaoxing wine

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch


[Seasoning]

  • 1 tsp black bean paste

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1 tsp light soy sauce

  • 2 tsp sweet balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tsp gula melaka


[Steps]

  1. Rub beef with soda and set aside. Rinse off with water after 15mins.

  2. Then, mix beef with marinade ingredients and let marinate for 30mins.

  3. Stir-fry ginger and garlic with some oil over medium heat till fragrant.

  4. Add in beef and stir-fry till fragrant, about 2-3mins. Followed by dried chillies and cook it for a min.

  5. Then, add in onion and broccoli, followed by seasoning ingredients. Mix well and let simmer covered for 2mins till broccoli is cooked but still retain its crunch.
