Marmite Chicken



Serving: 4pax


[Ingredients]

  • 3pcs boneless chicken thigh - cut into pcs

  • 0.5 tsp salt and pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tbsp cooking cream

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 8 tbsp potato starch

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp toasted white sesame seeds


[Sauce]

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

  • 0.5 cup rice syrup

  • 1 tbsp marmite

  • 1 tsp oyster sauce

  • 0.5 tsp light soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp shaoxing wine

  • 1 tsp raw sugar


[Steps]

  1. Marinate chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, egg white and cream. Mix well and set aside for 30mins.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, potato starch, baking soda and salt. Coat chicken evenly with the mixture.

  3. In a deep pot, heat up oil for frying. Deep-fry chicken pieces till golden brown, drain and set aside.

  4. Fry the chicken again, drain and set aside.

  5. In a wok, add in sauce ingredients and mix well. Reduce to low heat and continue stirring till it bubbles up.

  6. Toss in the chicken and sprinkle sesame seeds over.
