[Ingredients]
3pcs boneless chicken thigh - cut into pcs
0.5 tsp salt and pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 egg white
2 tbsp cooking cream
2 tbsp cornstarch
8 tbsp potato starch
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp toasted white sesame seeds
[Sauce]
1 tbsp cooking oil
0.5 cup rice syrup
1 tbsp marmite
1 tsp oyster sauce
0.5 tsp light soy sauce
3 tbsp shaoxing wine
1 tsp raw sugar
[Steps]
Marinate chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, egg white and cream. Mix well and set aside for 30mins.
In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, potato starch, baking soda and salt. Coat chicken evenly with the mixture.
In a deep pot, heat up oil for frying. Deep-fry chicken pieces till golden brown, drain and set aside.
Fry the chicken again, drain and set aside.
In a wok, add in sauce ingredients and mix well. Reduce to low heat and continue stirring till it bubbles up.
Toss in the chicken and sprinkle sesame seeds over.
