[Ingredients]
- 250g minced pork / chicken - seasoned with 1tsp soy sauce, 1tsp sesame oil
- 2-3 large prawns, peeled and chopped - reserve prawn shells
- 1/2 onion, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 carrot, peeled and sliced
- 8-10 cabbage leaves - cut into smaller pieces
- 1/2pkt brown shimeji mushroom, roots trimmed
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 2 slices of ginger
- 1 cilantro root, chopped
- 200ml water
- 1/2tsp oyster sauce
- 1/2tsp light soy sauce
[Steps]
1. Stir-fry prawn shells with 2tbsp cooking oil, ginger, garlic and cilantro root till fragrant. Remove 1tbsp prawn oil and set aside.
2. Add in water and let simmer for 15-20mins.
3. Remove shells. Add in carrot and cabbage stem parts, let simmer for 5-6mins.
4. Mix minced meat, onion, minced prawn and reserved prawn oil together. Roll into meatballs.
5. Drop meatballs into the cabbage stew and cook covered for a few mins.
6. Add in oyster sauce and soy sauce, followed by cabbage leaves and mushroom. Mix well. Cook for another 5-10mins till vegetables are soft and everything are cooked through.
