A Day at Pan Pacific’s Serviced Suites (Beach Road)

Super bored at work so I decide to share about my staycay that happened a couple of weeks ago.

It has been 16 months since I last travelled, and 14 months since S’pore closed the borders for leisure travelling. Silly me was still planning for a trip to Korea (for November) last May, thinking I still might stand a chance to travel after a few months. One year later, it did not get better and in fact, it got worst, with so many mutations and variants. I guess travelling is a definite no for this year again, and let’s hope for the best for next year!

So a couple of weeks ago, I suddenly had an urge to film a cooking and baking video. I wasn’t sure how to do it, but for sure I will need a place to do so, and definitely not at home. So I look up on serviced apartments in S’pore, and I found Pan Pacific’s serviced suites at Beach Road at quite an affordable rate.

All their rooms come with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and separate bedroom. I got the most affordable room - One Bedroom Deluxe Suite, and they gave a free upgrade to the Executive Suite. Honestly, I don’t know what’s the difference between the deluxe and executive suite, they looked kind of the same on the website.

The room was quite spacious and comfy, and the kitchen has everything that you need; but cleanliness wasn’t on point. For example, the Nespresso machine and capsules were dusty, the kitchen scissors was dirty and oily, and the coffee table had food/coffee stains.

For today’s menu, I planned to do some madeleines, fruits tarts, tiramisu and a seafood pot. Couldn’t figure out how to use the oven, so I scraped the madeleines. It took a really long time to film just the tiramisu and fruit tarts, 5hrs! Probably also because it was a one man’s job and I had to keep readjusting the camera angle to make sure everything is in frame. It was also my first time doing something like this, so things didn’t really go according to as planned. Plus, it has been quite a while since I last baked/cooked, so I really lost touch and had to figure out so many things!

But nonetheless, it was quite a fun and memorable experience, and I can’t wait for the next session!
