[Ingredients]
500g pork belly, cut into bite-sized
3tbsp light soy sauce
1tbsp dark soy sauce
2tbsp kecap manis
30g ginger, sliced
10 cloves of garlic, unpeeled
1/2tsp five spice powder
2 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
15g rock sugar
1/2tbsp white peppercorn, crushed
1/2tsp salt
500ml pork stock
4 hardboiled eggs, peeled
4 taupok (fried beancurd), halved
2tbsp oil
[Steps]
In a claypot with oil at medium heat, stir-fry ginger, cinnamon and star anise till fragrant.
Add in pork belly and stir well.
Followed by light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, kecap manis, five spice powder, peppercorn and salt. Mix well.
Add in stock and bring to a boil.
Add in rock sugar, mix well, and allow to simmer covered for 1hr.
Add in eggs and taupok, mix well and simmer covered for another 30mins.
