Woke up late today and missed the hotel’s breakfast. Decided to try one of the hot food at 7-11, by CP, which all look promising good! When it’s CP, it never goes wrong. Their products are always yummy! A hard time deciding, there were porridge, rice dishes, a variety of side dishes, even steamed egg (like chawanmushi) and braised eggs. Got the Stir-fried Basil Chicken with Rice and Egg, and a small Meiji strawberry milk. They were just THB40 and THB12.50 respectively! Singapore’s 7-11 should totally just price their items like this.
#1: Thai Basil Chicken with Rice and Egg, THB40. Meiji Strawberry Milk, THB12.50.
First stop was Fill in the Blank, a Muji-style cozy cafe. I didn’t know what to get. Like this place is neither popular for their coffee, nor their food, nor their desserts; but I guess people love this place because of how cozy and relax this place is, not like those crowded cafes. After some research, I got the Strawberry Milkshake which looks prettily pink, studded with fresh strawberries.

Next to theCommons, the trendiest hipster dining place! Every corner of this place is a nice spot for photo-taking! There are many huge cafes at the top floors, and at the basement called ‘Market’, you get all the small stores. At this storey, I decided to first get a cup of good coffee - Roots Coffee Roaster. They are currently offering beans from two regions:
1) House Blend - juicy, apricot, honey finish; and
2) Chang Pao - buttery, blackcurrant, dark chocolate finish.
I went for the Chang Pao blend as I am more familiar to a berries and cocoa taste. A training barista probably did my coffee as the pouring wasn’t consistent and I thought it was a little too flat to be a latte.

Just opposite Roots was Holy Moly that sells pies. I had the Holy Yolky, a lava salted egg pie; and the Chicken Pot Pie, prettily garnished with baby carrot, asparagus, gherkin, slivered onion and a sprig of rosemary. They are amazingly good! Best pies that I have ever had!

Following after is Chocolate Ville, a large European theme park restaurant. This place is beautiful! The whole ‘theme park’ consists of many buildings, shophouses, lake, real farm animals, lighthouse, windmill, anything that is required to create this small village. It was not as crowed as what says it will be, probably because of the rain, which luckily stopped when I arrived. Many staff were busy cleaning up the rainwater mess. Come early to avoid the crowd and have photos with less people. This place opens at 4pm. 2hrs is more than enough time to go round taking photos and complete your meal, unless you arrive late and so you have to cater in more time for waiting. The place started to be crowded at around 6pm onwards, and me? All done and getting ready to leave.
There are many restaurants to sit in with different concepts, be it indoors or outdoors, by the lake or within the gardens; this whole area serves the same menu. They offer both Western and Thai dishes. I went for the Waikiki Pizza, which consists of salami, ham, cheese, mushrooms, pineapple, onions, on a sweet Thai chilli sauce base; as I thought probably one should go to a Thai restaurant to have Thai food at half the price. Local food here is very affordable. Since food is on the steep side here, I went for the pizza which prize match with other places, but still cheaper as compared to Singapore. I am also not very comfortable with having the Thai food here as it always tends to be really spicy.

Last but not least, to JJ Green Night Market (or Jatujak Green), located pretty near to the popular Chatuchak. Chatuchak is available on weekends from morning around 9am to 6pm, whereas JJ Green is available in the evening from 5pm onwards, Thursdays to Sundays. As compared, JJ Green is a lot smaller and there is actually nothing much to shop about, unless you will like to get some cheap clothes and accessories. Apart from all the gazebos, there are real food stalls and pubs here, with live band performance.

Grabbed lots of jelly drinks to bring home on my way back. They were THB10 each and 3 for THB28 instead. Really love them and they are so cheap! 40 cents each?
