Christmas Tree Meringues

[Ingredients]

  • 4 Room Temp Egg Whites

  • 1/2tsp Cream of Tartar

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • 1tsp Vanilla Essence

  • Green Food Colouring

  • Star/snowflake sprinkles

[Steps]

  1. Preheat oven 110degC.

  2. Whisk whites on medium speed until frothy. Add in cream of tartar and whisk until soft peaks formed.

  3. Increase speed to medium-high. Add in sugar, 1tbsp at a time, beating until sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks formed.

  4. Whisk in essence and food colouring. Place meringue in a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Slowly pipe out (onto parchment paper lined baking tray) in a circle then continuously make smaller circles working your way up.

  5. Place a piece of sprinkle at the peak.

  6. Bake for 45mins. Turn oven heat off and let meringues stand in oven for 1hr or until completely cooled.
