
9am: Roman Forum
The Roman Forum of Philipoppolis is a forum surrounded by the ruins of several ancient administrative buildings at the center of the ancient city of Philipoppolis (now known as Plovdiv), built in the 1st century AD. Meetings, discussions, celebrations and state events were held there. The forum covers an area of 20 hectares, with 11 hectares excavated, which makes it the largest Roman forum in Bulgaria. The forum was abandoned in the middle of the 5th century when waves of Barbarians forced the people of Philippopolis to move to the acropolis.
10am: Breakfast at The Family Coffee Roasters
This highly rated chill and modern cafe that serves amazing specialty coffee. Pop right in for some awesome croissants and coffee!
11am: Regional Archaeological Museum
The Regional Archaeological Museum is one of the first Bulgarian cultural institutions, opened in 1882. Originally set up as an archaeological and numismatic office, it gradually earned the status of Archaeological Museum during the 1920s. The museum boasts one of the richest collections of 100,000 exhibits of artefacts.

12:30pm: Lunch at Skaptoburger
Skaptoburger was already on the itinerary for day 5 at Sofia, but their burgers look so amazing, it’s definitely of no harm to have them again! This store at Plovdiv features a beautiful mural outside, such a nice spot for photos! The indoor dining area is a burst of colours too, with a lime green ceiling paired with blue walls, beige wood, black and red seats!
1:30pm: History Museum of Plovdiv
The History Museum of Plovdiv is a historical museum in Plovdiv, established in 1951. It covers the history of Plovdiv from the 15th century till today. It consists of more than 60,000 exhibits.

3pm: Break at Tigan Pancakes, Walk Around Kapana
Tigan Pancakes is a crepe shop with a wide range of toppings to choose from. They do the Hong Kong-style bubble waffle too.
Kapana is the first district chosen to be dedicated to the creative industries in Bulgaria. The “Kapana Creative District” initiative was introduced in 2019. It aims to transform Kapana into a creative hub and place for exploration, innovations and experimentation in the field of creative industries and cultural management.
5:30pm: Dinner at Pavaj
Pavaj is a cosy casual restaurant that serves simple, delicious and authentic Bulgarian dishes that are highly praised and rated.
7pm: Arrive at Central Railway Station, Overnight Bus to Istanbul
After dinner, gather all bags and head to Central Railway Station to board an overnight bus to Istanbul. The ride takes 7hrs 30mins.
