10am: Banya Bashi Mosque
Banya Bashi Mosque was designed by the famous architect Mimar Sinan, completed in 1566 during the years of the Ottomans. It is built over natural thermal spas, thus named as “Banya Bashi”, which means “many baths”. It is currently the only functioning mosque in Sofia, used by the city’s Muslim community.
11:30am: Central Market Hall
The Central Market Hall is a covered market in the centre of Sofia, opened in 1911. The market was closed for renovations in 1988 and reopened on Easter Day in 2000, after 75% of it was acquired by an Israel company.
1pm: Lunch at Pizzeria Felicita by Leo’s (Ristorante Pizzeria Felicita)
Felicita is a casual Italian restaurant with great pizzas, pastas and other Italian classics. Wow, their menu is HUGE - pizza itself already has 40 options!
2pm: Russian Church (Sveti Nikolay Mirlikiiski), National Gallery for Foreign Art
Russian Church, officially known as Church of Saint Nicholas the Miracle Maker, was built in 1914. It was built on the site of Saray Mosque, which was destroyed in 1882, after the liberation of Bulgaria by Russia from the Ottoman Empire. It was built as the official church for the Russian Embassy, which is located next to it, and for the Russian community of Sofia.
Completed in 1985, the National Gallery for Foreign Art serves as the country’s national institution for non-Bulgarian art. A large portion of the donations were made through the “13 Centuries of Bulgarian Statehood” fund. Since 2015, collections of the National Gallery for Foreign Art are exhibited together with the 19th and 20th century collections of the National Art Gallery. The gallery is divided into European, Asian (Buddhist, Japanese and Indian) and African art, as well as contemporary art and engraving sections.

5pm: Ivan Vazov National Theatre
The Ivan Vazov National Theatre is Bulgaria’s national theatre, the oldest and the most authoritative theatre in the country. It is an important landmark of Sofia. Founded in 1904, it was named after the prominent writer, Ivan Vazov. Vazov’s play “The Outcasts” was the first to be performed at the theatre when it opened. The building was extensively damaged by a fire in 1923 during an anniversary celebration, but was reconstructed in 1929 by German architect Martin Dulfer.
6pm: Dinner at Skaptoburger
Skaptoburger does crazy burgers that look so delicious and massive! Their fries are made in-house, cut from fresh potatoes!
