[Virtual Travel] Tokyo Day 2

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) opened in 2001 and is the first Universal Studios park that opened in Asia. It is the most visited amusement park in Japan after Tokyo Disney Resort (Disneyland and Disneysea). Disneyland consists of Disney characters, Pixar, Star Wars and the Disney princesses. Universal Studios is based more on movies, such as Madagascar, Minions, Jurassic Park, Spongebob and the Marvel characters.

It is slightly a distance to get to USJ from Tokyo, but it’s definitely worth a visit especially with the newly added Super Nintendo World! It takes about 3hrs to reach Osaka via the Shinkansen (bullet train). Don’t forget to try a self-heating bento if you prefer hot food instead of cold food, and yes, you are allowed to dine in the train!

USJ currently consists of 10 zones - Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Waterworld, Amity Village, Universal Wonderland, Minion Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World. Right outside USJ is Universal Citywalk Osaka, a shopping mall with multiple official Universal hotels, shops and restaurants.
