The selected accommodation is Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa (都シティ 東京高輪), located near to Sengakuji and Shinagawa Station.
From Narita Airport (1.5hrs):
Take the Keisei Narita Skyaccess (airport railway line) and alight at Sengakuji Station.
From Haneda Airport (30mins): Take the Keikyu Airport Line and alight at Shinagawa Station.
At the point of writing this, it was the start of the omicron variant and Japan has closed all borders to foreign travellers, so there isn’t any SIN-TYO flight details for reference.
11am: Tokyo Ramen Street
Tokyo Ramen Street is part of the First Avenue Tokyo Station (which we will explore the rest of it on another day) and consists of 7 best ramens of Tokyo and 1 that is for a limited period (called Regional Ramen Challenge) only - 8 different types of ramen! The aim is to allow customers to be able to easily enjoy flavours that are well loved across the country at a convenient location - Tokyo Station.
12:30pm: National Museum of Nature and Science 国立科学博物館
The National Museum of Nature and Science exhibits pre-Meiji science of Japan. Opened in 1871, it has undergone a few name changes with the current name set in 2007. The building looks like an airplane when viewed from above and is designed to withstand earthquakes of the Great Kanto Earthquake class.

4pm: Sensoji Temple 浅草寺
An ancient Buddhist temple and Tokyo’s oldest temple, completed in 645. It is one of Tokyo’s most colourful and popular temples. In fact, it is the most widely visited spiritual site in the world. The temple is dedicated to Kannon Bosatsu (Guanyin). Adjacent to the temple is a 5-storey pagoda, Asakusa Shinto Shrine (浅草神社).
5:30pm: Tokyo Skytree 東京スカイツリー, Gion Tsujiri 祇園辻利
Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting and observation tower. It is Japan’s tallest structure and the world’s tallest tower and 2nd tallest structure after Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The tower is the primary television and radio broadcast site for the Kanto region.
It has 2 sets of observation decks, both equipped with high-definition digital telescopes. The Tembo Deck is on floor 340, 345 and 350. The Tembo Galleria is on floor 445 and 450.
Tsujiri was established by Riemon Tsuji in Uji, Kyoto in 1860. Tsujiri branches out into Gion Tsujiri and Saryo Tsujiri. The former focuses on takeaways and retail items, while the latter serves light meals and sweets made from Uji matcha. Gion Tsujiri is on the 6th floor of Skytree.
7pm: Ginza Akebono 銀座あけぼの
A confectionery store that has been selling in Ginza since 1948. It has always been popular and one of their best selling item is Himekuri Monaka, which is a chestnut-shaped item filled with bean paste and chestnuts.
7:30pm: Aoi Marushin 葵丸進
A tempura and tendon (tempura on rice) restaurant that started in 1946 and moved to its current location in 1965. It is considered as one of the best tempura places in Tokyo.
