[Virtual Travel] Taipei + Taichung Day 10

9am: Store luggage at Taipei Main Station

If you wouldn’t want to drag your luggage with you on check-out day, there are many storage lockers available in Taipei. Since the airport mrt starts from Taipei Main Station, it will only be ideal to store your luggage here. It charges at only NT$20/hr.

9:30am: MKCR (Mountain Kids Coffee Roaster) 山小孩咖啡

I love my coffee and I love to visit cafes just for coffee. It’s difficult to find cafes that open early for morning coffee in Taipei. Glad that there is one near to the next destination.

10am: National Taiwan Museum - Railway Department 国立台湾博物馆铁道部/國立臺灣博物館鐵道部

There are currently two exhibits - “Steam Dream Works” that talks about how steam trains work and how it started; and “Taiwan Railway Culture Exhibition” that talks about how train travel has transformed the way of life in Taiwan since Governor-General Liu Ming Chuan’s proposal of linking Taiwan through rail in 1891.

1pm: McDonald’s 麦当劳/麥當勞

Who doesn’t love McDonald’s? I have this thing about McDonald’s that it’s a must for me to try whichever country that I’m visiting’s McDonald’s because every country has their own specialty!

So McDonald’s Taiwan, they have got Truffle Mushroom Angus Beef Burger, Truffle Grilled Chicken Burger, Caesar Salad, Ginger Pork Burger, Smoked Chicken Burger and Grilled Chicken Burger. They have both fried and grilled wings, corn soup, croissants and other danish. They have got bagels on their breakfast menu.

2pm: Chill at Sidoli Radio 小島裡

Sidoli Radio is a retro radio and wood themed cafe. This newly opened (April 2021) cafe is nicely furnished and is a marriage between coffee and retro music elements - vinyl records, cassettes, old music players… It even has a mock-up radio DJ staion!

2:45pm: To Taoyuan Airport

From Taipei Main Station, take the airport express train to the airport. The flight departs at 5:30pm.
