9:30am: Rialto Bridge / Ponte di Rialto
The oldest of the 4 bridges spanning the Grand Canal. It has been rebuilt several times since its first construction as a pontoon bridge in 1173. It has now become a significant tourist spot in the city. The present stone bridge was completed in 1591.
10am: Venice Rialto Market / Mercato di Rialto + breakfast
Located near to the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto Market provides an authentic local experience. It is located north-west from the bridge, behind the souvenir shops. It was believed that the market could date back to the 11th century, though the line of buildings are from the 16th century due to a fire which swept through Rialto in 1514.
11:30am: Santa Maria dei Miracoli
A church that was completed by 1489 to house a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary. Also known as the "marble church", it is one of the best examples of the early Venetian Renaissance-style architecture.

1:30pm: House of Carlo Goldoni / Casa di Carlo Goldoni
Originally the residence of Italian playwright, Carlo Goldoni, it is now a museum and library of theatre studies. This small Gothic-style palace was originally the property of the Rizzi family. Carlo Goldoni’s grandfather bought it over in the 17th century. Today, it exhibits collections on Goldoni's life and works, as well as artefacts relating to Venetian theatre.
4pm: Ca 'd'Oro / Palazzo Santa Sofia / Galleria Giorgio Franchetti
The Ca ‘d’Oro is one of the older palaces in Venice. Its name translates to “golden house” as its walls were once adorned with glit and polychrome. It is regarded as one of the best surviving palace that is in Venetian Gothic architecture. It was completed in 1430 for the Contarini family. It went through several ownership changes and was last bought by Giorgio Franchetti in 1894. In 1916, Franchetti bequeathed the Ca' d'Oro to the Italian State.
Since 1927, the palace has been used as a museum - Galleria Giorgio Franchetti. The gallery houses the collection of works of art collected by Giorgio Franchetti in his life. In addition to the exhibition rooms, the museum houses various laboratories for the conservation and restoration of works of art.
5:30pm: Chiodo Bridge / Ponte de Chiodo, walk around
The Chiodo bridge is an ancient bridge that owes its name to the noble Chiodo family who used to owned it and is characterized by the absence of the parapet. It is the only one of its kind bridge remaining in Venice.
