The Spanish Steps is an iconic flight of 135 steps that was built in the 18th century to link Trinita dei Monti church that was at the bottom, to the Bourbon Spanish Embassy at the top.
Piazza di Spagna at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, is one of the most popular squares in Rome. In the middle of the square is the popular Fontana della Barcaccia (Fountain of the Boat), a Baroque-style fountain completed in 1629.

The Trevi Fountain is a huge fountain that is 49m in length and standing 26m in height, the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. Its name was derived from the Latin word “Trivium”, meaning “intersection of three streets” as the fountain is built in the center of three streets.

A single museum that consists of a group of art and archaeological museums in Piazza del Campidoglio, at the top of the Capitoline Hill. The history of the museum could be traced back to 1471 when Pope Sixtus IV donated a collection of important ancient bronzes. Since then, the museums' collection has grown to include many Ancient Roman statues, inscriptions and other artefacts. Opened to the public in 1734, the Capitoline Museums is considered as the world’s first museum.

During the Middle Ages (15th century), Trastevere had narrow, winding, irregular streets. Streets remained unpaved till late 15th century. Cobble stones were used as they were more suitable for carriages. Today, Trastevere still has its narrow cobbled streets lined with ancient houses, which attracts both tourists and locals.
