[Virtual Travel] Cambodia + Vietnam Day 8: Ho Chi Minh

9:30am: Chill at Nấp Saigon (Cafe)

Morning coffee at Nấp Saigon, a 10mins drive from the hotel. It operates as a café and Airbnb.



10:30am: Brunch at Phở Phượng 25

Then, walk over to Phở Phượng 25, another recommended Pho place in Ho Chi Minh.



11:30am: War Remnants Museum

Next, a 5mins drive to War Remnants Museum. A war museum containing exhibits relating to the Vietnam War and the first Indochina War involving the French colonialists. It is a shocking reminder to the long and brutal Vietnam War. It displays weapons used by American troops against the Vietnamese between 1945 and 1975, such as a helicopter with rocket launchers, a tank, a fighter plane, and a single-seater attack aircraft.


Agent Orange, a powerful herbicide spray by the American military during the war to destroy jungles and uncover hiding places. More than 80 million litres of Agent Orange were used to spray over South Vietnam between 1962 and 1971. More than 4.8 million people were exposed to this strong chemical, which believes to result in more than 500,000 children born with birth defects. From the 1960s, doctors in Vietnam begin to see a sharp rise in birth defects, cancers, and other illnesses linked to the exposure of the chemical.



1:30pm: Independence Palace

Next, a short walk to the Independence Palace. Also known as the Reunification Palace, it is the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.



3pm: Chill at Yoko Cafe

Then, a break at Yoko Cafe, a 5mins drive from Independence Palace.



4pm: Early Dinner at Bánh Mì Huỳnh Hoa, to Airport, depart to Singapore

Lastly, an early dinner at Bánh Mì Huỳnh Hoa, another recommended Banh Mi place; before we head to the airport and depart back home.
