With the Malaysia Ringgit dropping down to RM3 per S$1, isn't it a great time to travel around Malaysia? On this 8-days trip, I am spending 3 nights in Malacca, and 4 nights in Kuala Lumpur (KL), dropping by Genting for a day. With it being so affordable in Malaysia, I started to frequent Johor Bahru (JB) a lot, probably at least 2-3 times per month. Watching movies, cafehopping, shopping, eating, doing my hair, doing my nails, massage... There is so much that you can do in JB and saving so much, and sometimes even for better services! A movie session could go as low as just RM8 (on Tuesdays for ladies at JB City Square cinema)!
大家都一定知道，马币不断的往下滑，以跌到新币$1就能换到马币3。这不就是个旅游马来西亚的好时机吗？这次的8天之旅，花了3夜在马六甲，4夜在吉隆坡，其中的1天也到了云顶。不说你也知，对于新加坡人，柔佛简直就是我们的天堂。每月我都会去柔佛大概两，三次。看电影、咖啡厅、购物、吃东西、弄头发、做指甲、按摩、等等。。在柔佛真的有太多太多活动可以花费时间，而且和新加坡比起，真的是划算太多了。有时甚至花费较少，却可以得到更优的服务！列如在柔佛看场电影，最便宜只需马币8 (周二 JB City Square 女生电影特惠)！
Since I am currently working as a part-time barista, I am earning a lot lesser, but I guess it is worth it in exchange for flexibility and the freedom to travel. With a tight budget and the desire to travel, doesn't it make travelling around Malaysia a great option? This time, I am challenging to tour Malacca, KL and Genting with just S$1,000!

I have always wanted to visit Malacca for its rich Peranakan culture. I have never been to other parts of Malaysia, except for JB and once to Genting when I was 11. Genting was closed for renovations in 2013, and has recently opened with the partial completion of the indoor theme park. Construction for the outdoor theme park, 20th Century Fox World, is currently on halt as it is in the midst of a lawsuit between Resorts World Genting and 21st Century Fox - The Walt Disney Company, for breech of contract. My impression of Genting when I was there 15yrs ago was it being really old and overrated. The hotel rooms were so damn small! Pretty excited to see how the newly renovated Genting looks like now!
一向来都被马六甲的娘惹文化给吸引，很想到那体验当地文化。虽然马来西亚离新加坡很近，但这几年来，除了柔佛和11岁时到云顶一次，没去过其他马来西亚城市。云顶在2013年关闭开始大维修，最近才又开始营业，包括室内主题乐园的一部分。大家很期待的户外主题乐园还未完成 - Resorts World Genting 和迪斯尼 21st Century Fox 因为合约关系而打起官司，所以维修就暂停了。我对云顶15年前的印象是 - 老旧，被高估，酒店房间超级无敌小！很兴奋想看看维修后的云顶长什么样子，听说很漂亮！
For accommodation, I went for boutique hotels priced at around S$40/night - which are affordable, and has both comfort and convenience. They do not come with breakfast, which is fine for me as there are many cafes that I am planning on visiting. The trip starts off with a 4hrs bus from Big Box (Jurong East) towards Malacca, which is a great start-off point for me since I live in the west. After spending 3 nights in Malacca, I will take a 2.5hrs bus towards KL, spending 4 nights there. On the second last day in KL, I have booked a Genting and Batu Caves day trip that starts at 0900hrs, and the trip takes about 8hrs. It is just an hour bus ride to Genting from the city of KL, so you get to spend about 4hrs at Genting. I initially wanted to include a trip to Cameron Highlands as well, but realised it is a 4hrs bus ride from KL, and a minimum booking of 2pax, so I scraped the idea. On the last day of the trip, I then take an evening flight back to Singapore from KL, which takes about an hour, via AirAsia with additional purchase of 25kg check-in baggage.
住宿方面，选择了大约每晚新币40的精品酒店 - 实惠，舒服，方便。这种酒店不含早餐，不过也没关系，方正要去的咖啡厅太多了！这次的行程先到 Big Box（Jurong East）搭巴士到马六甲。非常方便，因为我就住在西边。会在马六甲待3晚，然后再搭2.5小时的巴士到吉隆坡 - 4晚。在吉隆坡的最后第2天，也定了云顶 Batu Caves 一日游 - 行程早上9点开始，大概8小时的行程。从吉隆坡的市中心到云顶大概是1小时的行程，所以在云顶能有大概4小时的自由活动时间。一开始也想加入到金马伦，不过从吉隆坡开过去需要4小时，而且行程需要至少2人订购，所以就算了。行程结束后，搭了傍晚飞机回新加坡，大概1小时就能抵达樟宜机场 - AirAsia，另加25kg check-in 行李。
