Safari Baby Shower

#1) Safari Themed Decor

It's my second nephew's baby shower and unfortunately this time round I was having my exams, so I had only about 1-2 weeks to prepare everything. Therefore, this party is much simple as compared with my first nephew's 1st birthday. He does have a baby shower but we didn't do much because at that time, I was still not that experienced in planning and decorating a party. So we just did a simple sailor themed baby shower near the beach.

Just for your information, all these paper decoration are all done by hand and by me. I designed everything, with reference from the internet. Everything hand-drawn, painted, printed and put together by me. I was just so busy doing these things every night, up till the night before the party. And everything was so rush because I have so so little time to prepare everything and I have to go and get every single raw material myself.

#5) Dessert Set-up

Okay, I know, this is not really a dessert set-up. I wanted to keep it simple. So other than the three essentials at a baby shower - red eggs, ang ku kueh and glutinous rice, I made some triple chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and tiramisu. Triple chocolate? Alright, it's just chocolate cake mix with semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. And as an additional item and matching up with the theme at the same time, I placed some 'jungle' fruits at the side. Our guests actually ate them as well and only the pineapple was left at the end of the day.

#7) Door Gifts

Apart from the food and decor, I also helped to order these mini gift boxes for our guests. It's from Lulu's Celebratory Box and the reason for choosing them because 1) designs that matches with our theme; 2) super affordable, $6 nett each; and 3) a twist from the modern red eggs and ang ku kueh gift boxes.

And the good thing about Lulu's is that you can choose multiple designs (each design min. 15 boxes) for the boxes and each box comes with a matching 4R themed card. Of course, we had 3 different photos with 3 different pastry combination in it. Some has egg tarts, some has custard puff, chocolate tarts, swiss rolls, etc., can't really remember. So it provides a choice for our guests. So that's it, just keeping this short and simple...
